Homestead Flooring - Traditional Wide Plank Flooring For The Classic Country Home Homestead Flooring - Traditional Wide Plank Flooring For The Classic Country Home

Traditional wide pine floors are truly unique. They add the warmth, charm and feeling of old America to a home. In preserving the spirit of colonial America, we have sold traditional New England flooring to people all over the United States. Many of our clients have used our flooring in colonial homes, log homes, post and beam homes and even contemporary homes. They will become a conversation piece for years to come.

Wide White Pine boards truly make unique and beautiful flooring as well as paneling. It is a hard to find product because it cannot be purchased from any lumber yard. Our wood is native New England timber and the trees are all selectively cut by individual New England loggers. Each board is hand selected which assures consistent quality. The wood selected is a combination of standard and premium grades. Our pine has lots of natural character, accented with beautiful red knots between one and four inches wide

We have been selling and installing flooring and paneling since 1982. We have found that White Pine is not only a beautiful wood but is extremely stable and easy to work with. White Pine is a very stable wood mainly because it is a soft wood. It does not have the pressure and tension in its cellular structure like Yellow Pine or a hardwood. That is why those woods need to be cut narrower to prevent warping. However, there are measures which should be taken to help prevent warping from taking place with wide pine. The wood should be acclimated to its new environment prior to installation. Besides proper subfloor preparation and installation procedures, as in all wood floors, they need to be cared for properly over the years. With proper care and maintenance your floors will last for centuries.
